ICxA is the professional body for Outcome Assurance — the global institute that defines, stewards, and professionalizes the shift from delivery-based project models to outcome-based project delivery. It develops the standards, certification pathways, body of knowledge, and organizational benchmarking tools that project leaders need to build genuine outcome assurance capability.
ICxA commissioned the Outcome Assurance Gap research and operates as the institutional home for professionals and organizations committed to governing outcomes, not just activities.
The Research That Connects Us
The Outcome Assurance Gap study — commissioned by ICxA and the research foundation for POI — assessed 1,406 organizations across global capital projects. It is the first research of its kind to quantify the structural gap between project delivery capability and outcome assurance capability at a global scale.
The findings are unambiguous. The average Outcome Assurance Index score across 1,406 organizations is 33.31 out of 100. More than 96 percent of organizations fall within the Minimal or Weak/Fragmented maturity bands. No region, no industry, and no stakeholder class performs materially differently. The P10-to-P90 performance range spans less than 20 points on a 100-point scale. The entire global industry operates within the same structural ceiling.
This is not a story of some organizations failing and others succeeding. It is a story of a shared structural condition — one that the industry has not yet collectively addressed because the tools to address it have not yet been widely available. That is what ICxA is building.
